This custom built, lakefront home was designed to incorporate industrial, yet modern elements and provide a relaxing escape for a busy family.
The Lakefront Escape is located on beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack in Tafton, Pennsylvania. Every weekend, the homeowners traveled from out of state to their cozy little escape on the lake. But as their family grew larger and their home outdated, it was time to demolish and rebuild!
The exterior is comprised of stained flitch siding, copper colored metal roofs and gutters, carriage barn garage doors, fieldstone, and cast iron details throughout. Multiple decks overlook the lake, each featuring cable rails and industrial lighting fixtures.
The first floor has a curved stone wall at the entrance that leads to a living room with a double sided stone fireplace, a high ceiling with exposed beams, hickory engineered hardwood floors, and multiple sliding glass doors that open to the back deck. There is also a powder room and a spare bedroom with a full bath. The kitchen features custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances, quartz and granite countertops, an island, and a dining area.
Upstairs, one main hallway branches off to multiple rooms: the master bedroom, a linen closet and laundry room, and 2 bedrooms. There are 2 baths including the master bath and a “Jack and Jill” bath located between two bedrooms.
